My Grandad

Created by Emma 10 years ago
My granddad was sadly taken from us on 13th March 2014 at 3pm. He had battled prostate cancer for many years, but after the death of my mum, his only daughter on 8th July 2012 aged only 54, things started to go down hill. All the life and fight went out of him as he was devastated. He kept himself going for my daughter, Abigail. But sadly the cancer took hold and took him. He was a gentle giant, who would do anything for his family. He worked hard all of his life to look after us all. He helped my Mum out when things were tough and he and my Nan took me on holidays when I was tiny, so Mum could have a break. One of my first memories is of my Grandad shaking an Apple tree and an apple falling and hitting him on the head. I remember him tying knots into a hanky and putting it on his head and dancing around the kitchen singing Bring Me Sunshine, just like Morecombe and Wise. He truly was the best Grandad in the world and I adored him. I love him with all my heart and my only comfort in all of this is that he is now free of pain and is with Mum again. His best girl. I love you Grandad and will miss you everyday. Give Mum a kiss from me. Your second best girl, Emma. xxx
